Description
100 words
Island Dominion is a political strategy game set in Pelagia, a small Cold-War-era island state, across 21 yearly turns from 1970 to 1990. Each year the player makes one major political decision and answers one major world-year pressure — sanctions, oil shocks, coalition revolts, foreign-policy alignments. There are no good options, only chosen lines, and the ledger remembers. Six political actors carry their own ambitions and pressure curves. Decisions taken in year 4 still echo at year 18. Standard and Ironman run modes. Browser-playable, free during alpha, donations support development.

Island Dominion is a political strategy game about running a small island state through the Cold War. You are the Prime Minister of Pelagia from 1970 to 1990, twenty-one yearly turns of coalition politics, foreign-policy pressure, and the slow accumulation of decisions that decide whether your government holds or breaks.
Each year compresses to two pivotal moves: one cabinet-level decision (a budget line, a project, a coalition vote) and one response to a major world-year event (an oil shock, a Berlin Wall moment, an IMF intervention, a sanctions package). Six political actors track their own ambitions and react to the line you pick — Adrian Varga vetoing the budget feels like Adrian Varga vetoing the budget, not a stat penalty.
The game is built around delayed payoffs and long-term costs. The line you take in year 4 is the line voters remember at the year-14 election. Reputation, sanctions, legitimacy, mandate, and trade dependence interact through visible cause-and-effect chains — there are no hidden levers. Standard mode is replayable; Ironman commits to a single run.
Currently in public alpha at islanddominion.com (also on itch.io). Free during alpha. The donate path is for players who want to back development directly. The roadmap, devlog, and feedback channels are linked from every page.
